The Dangjin City Council in Chungnam concluded its legislative activities for 2024 with the 7th plenary session of the 115th 2nd regular meeting on the 20th.

During this regular session, the council handled 38 agenda items closely related to citizens' daily lives, including ordinance bills, administrative questions, and the 2025 revenue and expenditure budget proposal.

According to the city council, during this regular session, each standing committee reviewed a total of 41 items: 25 ordinance bills, 11 consent bills, 2 opinion hearing bills, 1 public property management plan, and 2 other items. Of these, 30 items were finally approved after being submitted to the plenary session.

During the administrative questioning period held from the 9th to the 11th, a total of 13 council members, including Kim Myungjin, raised 53 questions and requested answers from the administration.

The council members stated, "Through the administrative questioning, Dangjin City Council was able to fulfill its role of oversight and monitoring, evaluating the responsibility and transparency of the executive departments," and added, "We will continue to closely monitor the progress of the requested matters to enhance the completeness of our policies."

Regarding the 2025 revenue and expenditure budget proposal, after comprehensive review by the standing committees and the Special Committee on Budget and Accounts, the general, special, and fund accounts were finally approved at 1.3209 trillion won, a reduction of 14.6 billion won from the original proposal.

Chairman Seo Younghoon said, "Despite the difficult financial situation, we conducted a thorough budget review to ensure the budget is used efficiently," and requested, "Please establish a detailed plan and proceed without setbacks so that next year's confirmed budget is not wasted."
