Amorepacific's beauty brand Hera's Black Cushion Foundation has been shown to lead the luxury makeup market.


According to 'Bote Research' compiled by Amorepacific, the best-selling luxury makeup product across department stores, boutiques, and e-commerce is Hera's Black Cushion. Hera Black Cushion ranked first in sales across all makeup categories including lips and face.

During the same period, on Naver Store, it became the first product in the entire luxury beauty category to surpass 100,000 cumulative reviews, maintaining an average rating of 4.8 points, proving high customer satisfaction and popularity for the Black Cushion.


Launched in 2017, the Black Cushion is Amorepacific's first makeup cushion. It has gained popularity based on its thin adhesion, lasting power, and coverage. Through a renewed release in April this year, it evolved to enable more refined and comfortable skin expression. In February this year, it remarkably surpassed 10 million cumulative sales as a single makeup product.


The Black Cushion is also achieving results in Japan. As of the third quarter of this year, just one year after entering the Japanese market, sales grew 49% compared to the same period last year. With increasing repurchases, cushion refill products grew 122% in just two months as of October this year. The strategy of tailoring to local customers, such as launching a locally exclusive color (22C No. 1) suited to Japanese customer characteristics, proved effective.


Recently, it also ranked first in cushion rankings announced by leading Japanese beauty and fashion media. In fact, it took first place in the 2024 second half Best Cosmetics Cushion Foundation category hosted by both 'MAQUIA' and 'BITEKI'. Hera secured an advantage in competition against global and local Japanese brands. Currently, Hera is present in a total of seven locations in Japan, including department store pop-up stores and major multi-brand shops such as Atokosme.
