Special Support for Small Business Owners, Promotion of Consumption, Jobs, Vulnerable Groups, and Safety Managed
Gwangjin-gu (District Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) has launched the "Livelihood Stabilization Task Force" and held a strategy meeting to support residents' lives amid national turmoil, stabilize the livelihoods of ordinary citizens, and revitalize the local economy.
The task force, led by the Deputy District Mayor as the head, is composed of four teams: Administrative Support, Local Economy, Vulnerable Groups Support, and Safety Management. The focus is on reducing damage to small business owners and self-employed individuals, who form the foundation of the local economy, and stabilizing the livelihood economy.
The meeting, chaired by Gwangjin District Mayor Kim Kyung-ho, was attended by over 40 senior officials. It emphasized four key areas: ▲smooth execution of urgent issues and tasks ▲stabilization of ordinary citizens' livelihoods and revitalization of the local economy ▲support for vulnerable groups ▲thorough disaster and safety management during winter.
In particular, it was ordered to concentrate administrative efforts to ensure that ongoing projects, festivals, and events closely related to livelihoods proceed normally, and that budgets for consumption and investment are actively executed to prevent contraction of local economic activities.
Various special measures were discussed. The special loan support ratio will be expanded, and local gift certificates worth a total of 12 billion KRW will be issued in January to stimulate consumption. Meetings with local economic organizations will be held to hear voices from the field. Public job projects and youth challenge support projects will be promptly promoted to help stabilize employment and maintain livelihoods. Various year-end and New Year events will proceed as scheduled, and rapid budget execution at the beginning of the year will accelerate the recovery of the livelihood economy.
Additionally, vulnerable groups such as the elderly and disabled will be cared for. In cases of crisis households caused by business closures or unemployment, swift support will be provided through emergency welfare, and the neighborhood care team workforce will be expanded to actively prepare for those at risk of solitary death and welfare blind spots. A comprehensive cold wave support situation room will be operated to cope with winter cold, and attention will be paid to safety management of crowds during year-end and New Year events, large fires, heavy snowfall, and other winter disasters.
Gwangjin District Mayor Kim Kyung-ho said, “Thanks to strengthened local autonomy, we can carry out district administration steadily even amid national turmoil. We will focus administrative and financial resources to ensure that residents’ lives stabilize quickly.” He added, “We will continue to communicate more and actively visit livelihood sites. We hope all residents trust Gwangjin-gu and continue their daily lives with peace of mind.”
