Gyeonggi Province evaluates 19 cities and counties in malaria risk areas within the province based on four indicators: project management, patient management, vector control, prevention education and publicity, and cooperation with related organizations, selecting outstanding institutions for malaria prevention management.
Paju City was recognized for achievements including ▲ systematic epidemiological investigation and patient management ▲ expansion of local malaria diagnostic institutions (from 44 to 58 locations) ▲ expansion of residual spraying pilot projects (from 1 battalion to 7 battalions) ▲ data-driven vector control using daily mosquito monitoring system (DMS) ▲ multifaceted publicity activities such as utilizing large screens at stations ▲ and strengthening cooperation systems with related organizations (military units, medical institutions).
In particular, Paju City received high evaluations for effectively reducing the incidence rate of malaria patients through active cooperation with related organizations and departments, including malaria eradication task force meetings, military unit cooperation project meetings, taxi transportation industry cooperation meetings, and discussions on interdepartmental collaboration.
