Selection of 1,391 Regular and 185 Non-Regular Positions

Hankuk University of Foreign Studies will select 1,576 students, accounting for 42.3% of the total 3,729 recruits for the 2025 academic year, through regular admissions.

The number of students selected through regular admissions includes 1,391 under the general admission within the quota and 185 under special admissions outside the quota for rural students, basic livelihood security recipients, and lower-income groups. By recruitment group, the general admission includes 330 students in Group A (210 at the Seoul Campus, 120 at the Global Campus), 609 in Group B (377 at the Seoul Campus, 232 at the Global Campus), and 452 in Group C (115 at the Seoul Campus, 337 at the Global Campus). The special admissions outside the quota include 50 students in Group B and 51 in Group C for rural students, and 42 students in Group B and 42 in Group C for basic livelihood security recipients and lower-income groups.

HUFS selects freshmen based on 100% CSAT scores in all regular admission categories. To simplify the admission process and reduce preparation burdens, the university applies 100% CSAT scores not only for the general admission but also for the special admissions outside the quota (rural students, basic livelihood security recipients, and lower-income groups). HUFS does not designate elective subjects according to the academic division of the recruitment units. Therefore, applicants can apply to both humanities and natural science divisions without restrictions on choosing probability and statistics, calculus, or geometry in the mathematics section, or social and science inquiry in the inquiry section. In other words, applicants who typically choose probability and statistics in mathematics and social inquiry in the humanities division can also apply to natural science divisions.

The HUFS Admissions Office plans to operate various counseling programs to assist applicants before the 2025 regular admission application period. 'HUFS DaehapTalk' is a non-face-to-face online counseling program designed for applicants and parents who want counseling for regular admissions but face spatial or temporal constraints that make in-person counseling difficult. Through this program, applicants can receive one-on-one customized counseling from admissions officers based on last year’s admission results and establish optimal application strategies based on accurate admission data. HUFS DaehapTalk applications will be accepted on the Admissions Office website from the 9th to the 13th of this month, with counseling sessions held for one week starting on the 23rd. Detailed schedules and information can be found on the Admissions Office website later this month.

Additionally, HUFS participated in the 2025 Regular Admission University Entrance Information Fair hosted by the Korea Council for University Education, providing offline counseling. The fair was held for three days from the 19th to the 21st of this month at COEX (located in Samseong-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul). Visitors, including applicants, were provided with admission information as well as details about academic programs and university life.

Applications for regular admissions can be submitted through the Admissions Office website from 10 a.m. on the 31st of this month until 5 p.m. on January 3rd next year. If documents such as eligibility certificates need to be submitted, they must be mailed to the HUFS Admissions Office by January 7th next year. The initial successful candidates will be announced on January 31st for the general admission and on February 7th for the special admissions.
