[2025 Regular Admission Special] Soongsil University to Select 1,302 Students... 8 Spots in 'Information Security Department' with LG Uplus Contract

1241 Students Selected Through CSAT-Focused Admission, 100% Based on CSAT Scores

Sungkyul University will select approximately 1,302 students, accounting for about 42.8% of the total 3,041 recruits for the 2025 academic year, through the regular admission process. The number of students selected by each admission type is 1,241 for the CSAT-based admission and 61 for the practical skills-based admission.


The CSAT-based general admission will select 370 students from Group A, 282 from Group B, and 439 from Group C, with the selection method being 100% based on the CSAT scores. The practical skills-based general admission will select 61 students from Group C, with the selection method being 70% practical skills and 30% CSAT scores. The special admission outside the quota based on CSAT (for rural students, graduates of specialized high schools, recipients of basic living subsidies, low-income families, and single-parent family support recipients) will reflect 100% CSAT scores like the general admission and select 147 students.

The newly established Division of Liberal Arts for this year will select a total of 392 students through the CSAT-based general admission, dividing the recruitment units into ‘Humanities’ and ‘Natural Sciences’. The Division of Liberal Arts (Humanities) will select 163 students from Group C, and the Division of Liberal Arts (Natural Sciences) will select 229 students from Group B. Although the recruitment units are separated at the time of application, students can choose their major after admission without restrictions on admission type, division, or department quotas. However, the majors in the Department of Arts Creation Film Arts, Department of Sports, contract departments, and departments for employment before further education are not selectable.


The Department of Information Security at Sungkyul University is recruiting freshmen in collaboration with LG Uplus to cultivate specialized talents in the field of cybersecurity. The Department of Information Security will select 8 students from Group C through the CSAT-based general admission with 100% CSAT scores. Students who pass the set criteria will receive tuition waivers, living expense support, LG laptops and communication fee support, and even an opportunity to join LG Uplus after graduation.


Starting this year, Sungkyul University has expanded the subjects reflected in the CSAT for the regular general admission. In the natural sciences division, Probability and Statistics and Social Studies are now included, allowing all divisions to select subjects without restrictions: Korean (choose one from Speech and Composition or Language and Media), Mathematics (choose one from Probability and Statistics, Calculus, or Geometry), English, and two subjects from Social Studies or Science.


However, additional points are awarded based on the chosen subjects. For students who took Calculus or Geometry in Mathematics, Natural Sciences Division 1 will receive an additional 7% of the standard score as bonus points, while Natural Sciences Division 2 and the Division of Liberal Arts (Natural Sciences) will receive an additional 5%. Also, students who took Science Inquiry in Natural Sciences Divisions 1 and 2 and the Division of Liberal Arts (Natural Sciences) will receive up to 5% (2.5% per subject) of their percentile scores as bonus points, and students who took Social Studies Inquiry in the Division of Liberal Arts (Humanities) will receive up to 5% (2.5% per subject) as bonus points. Korean History will have the same bonus points across all divisions, with a 0.5-point difference between grades from 4 points for grade 1 to 0 points for grade 9.


Sungkyul University will accept applications for the regular admission from the 31st of this month until January 3rd of next year. The initial successful candidates will be announced on February 7th next year through the university website.
