Unlike Regular Admissions, Broadening Recruitment Units
Myongji University will recruit by broadening the recruitment units into the Division of Interdisciplinary Studies and individual colleges for the 2025 regular admission, unlike the early admission. A total of 896 students will be selected across all admission types.
The general CSAT admission will select 381 students in Group A, 246 in Group B, and 150 in Group C. The CSAT practical skills admission will recruit 49 students in Group B and 46 in Group C. The practical skills and outstanding achievement admission will select 24 students in Group C.
The CSAT rural students admission, specialized high school admission, adult student admission based on school records, and specialized high school graduate working student admission will recruit if there are vacancies in the corresponding early admission types. The final confirmed number of regular admission students can be checked on the Myongji University Admissions Office website at 3 PM on the 30th. The application period is from 10 AM on the 31st until 6 PM on January 3, 2025.
A notable feature is the change in recruitment units for the 2025 regular admission due to the academic structure reorganization, including the establishment, modification, and abolition of colleges, departments, and majors. The Division of Interdisciplinary Studies is newly established in the general CSAT admission, selecting a total of 208 students, with 140 in humanities and 68 in natural sciences. A total of 569 students will be recruited through broad recruitment by college.
The general CSAT admission recruits from Groups A, B, and C, selecting candidates based on 100% of the CSAT scores. The Division of Interdisciplinary Studies recruits humanities students in Group A and natural sciences students in Group C. The CSAT subject weightings are as follows: for humanities and social sciences (excluding the Business School), Korean 35%, Mathematics 25%, English 20%, and Inquiry 20%. For natural sciences and engineering, Korean 25%, Mathematics 35%, English 20%, and Inquiry 20%. For both humanities and natural sciences, only the highest score in the Inquiry section is considered. Applicants to natural sciences and engineering who choose science inquiry will receive an additional 10% of their percentile score as bonus points.
The CSAT practical skills admission combines 60% CSAT scores and 40% practical test scores for selection. For the Humanities Campus (Seoul) departments of Creative Writing and Digital Content Design, and the Natural Sciences Campus (Yongin) Department of Architecture (Architecture major), the number of CSAT subjects considered has been reduced from four to three to ease the burden on applicants. The weightings are Korean 35%, English 35%, and the higher score between Mathematics and Inquiry 30%. For the Natural Sciences Campus (Yongin) departments of Design (Video Animation Design major), Sports (Physical Education and Sports Industry majors), and Performing Arts (Theater and Film majors), Korean 50% and English 50% are considered.
The practical skills and outstanding achievement admission (practical skills excellence admission) recruits for the Art and Multimedia Music Department and the Performing Arts Department (Musical Performance major). Selection is based on 20% CSAT scores and 80% practical test scores. Since the practical test has a high weight, the practical test scores play a crucial role in the admission decision.
