Rebellion-Innodep Launch AI Control System Development Without Overseas GPU Dependence

Joint Development of NPU-Equipped Intelligent Screening Control System
Securing Stable Supply Chain through Localization of Public Video Surveillance

Artificial intelligence (AI) semiconductor company Rebellion is collaborating with Innodep, a leader in the domestic local government video surveillance market, to build an intelligent surveillance system based on a domestically produced neural processing unit (NPU).

Rebellion announced on the 20th that it recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Innodep to develop intelligent selective surveillance NPU technology. Through this agreement, the two companies plan to jointly research, develop, and commercialize a domestically produced NPU specialized for AI intelligent selective surveillance using Rebellion's core technology.

Both companies stated, "By building AI infrastructure for local government video surveillance without relying on overseas big tech GPUs and instead using domestic AI semiconductors, we will secure supply stability and provide smooth technical support."

Innodep is the first specialized video management system company in Korea and holds the number one market share in integrated CCTV control for local governments nationwide. It provides intelligent selective surveillance that detects objects in CCTV footage using deep learning technology and selects and analyzes meaningful videos.

Through this collaboration, the two companies will implement high-performance, high-efficiency AI semiconductor hardware and software technologies that can be used in Innodep's selective surveillance system and further promote commercialization. The plan is to complete a total package that provides everything from AI infrastructure construction to surveillance service application.

The two companies will prioritize joint research and development projects and demonstration businesses. They will continue in-depth technical cooperation by partnering with domestic and international research institutions. They are also considering expanding the supply of AI surveillance services based on domestic technology to local governments and public institutions in the future.

Park Seong-hyun, CEO of Rebellion, said, "We will open the way for the introduction of domestically produced NPUs in the public surveillance sector and further lay the foundation for the development of the domestic AI ecosystem."
