S-OIL Selected as a ‘DJSI World’ Company for 15 Consecutive Years

Oil & Gas Sector, Asia's First Refinery to Achieve 15 Consecutive Years as DJSI 'World' Company

S-OIL (CEO: Anwar Al-Hizazi) has been selected as a DJSI ‘World’ company in the 2024 Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI) evaluation.

S-OIL has been listed on the DJSI ‘World (Oil & Gas sector)’ for 15 consecutive years since 2010. S-OIL is the first and only Asian refinery company to be recognized as a DJSI ‘World’ company for 15 consecutive years.


S-OIL stated, “Based on global-level management transparency, we harmonize with society and faithfully reflect stakeholders’ expectations in our management activities, earning exemplary ESG management achievements that have been recognized by being selected as a DJSI World company for 15 consecutive years.” They added, “As a company-wide task, we will successfully carry out initiatives by each sector and organization to achieve ESG management goals and further strengthen sustainable management.”


S-OIL is expanding sustainable management by establishing long-term roadmaps for each ESG sector, deriving key tasks, and systematically promoting them.


Since 2021, S-OIL has operated an ESG Promotion Committee composed of top management and executives to focus on deliberating and reviewing core ESG management tasks.


Additionally, since 2023, an ESG Committee has been established under the Board of Directors to set directions for the company’s strategies and policies related to ESG matters and review performance, thereby expanding ESG management.


DJSI is a globally authoritative evaluation index that measures sustainability by comprehensively assessing economic, social, and environmental aspects such as governance, supply chain management, environmental performance, and human resource development for over 2,500 global companies worldwide every year since 1999 by S&P Global, the world’s largest financial information provider.


It is widely used as a standard to evaluate corporate sustainability by comprehensively considering the economic and ESG performance of global companies.
