Weverse Live During Vacation... APT Sings Nillirya Passionately
Jungkook of the group BTS showcased his unparalleled influence even during his military service. Jungkook once again proved his status as a global star by communicating with fans through a Weverse Live session during his leave.
At 11:39 PM on the 18th, Jungkook conducted a live broadcast on Weverse for about 2 hours and 30 minutes. He began the broadcast by greeting fans with, “I turned on Weverse because I’m on leave today. I really missed you all,” sharing updates about his recent life.
He also revealed the interior of his recently moved-into home, saying, “I prepared in advance for this live. I’ve been exercising every day,” giving a glimpse into his diligent daily routine.
At fans’ requests, Jungkook passionately sang various songs including Taeyeon’s “To. X,” Block B’s “Neon Eodie,” and Ros?’s “APT.” He then showcased his unique interpretations by singing G-Dragon’s “Nilliliya” and “Niga Mwonde.”
He didn’t miss the latest songs by BTS members either, performing Jin’s “I’ll Be There” and V’s “Winter Bear,” highlighting his friendship with the members.
In the latter part of the live, he filled the stage with his own songs. He performed seven tracks including the title song “Standing Next to You” from his solo album GOLDEN and his solo single “3D (feat. Jack Harlow),” eliciting enthusiastic responses from fans.
Jungkook ended the broadcast by humming “Don’t Go” by Skrillex, Justin Bieber, and Don Toliver during the final part of the live.
This live session recorded a cumulative real-time view count of 20.2 million, achieving the highest number since Weverse opened in 2019. As of 1 PM on the 19th, the live video had received 292 million hearts, reflecting Jungkook’s explosive popularity. After the broadcast ended, his name and the songs he performed dominated the top ranks of real-time trends on social media.
Earlier, Jungkook won two awards at the ‘2024 Billboard Music Awards’ held on the 13th, taking home ‘Top K-Pop Album’ and ‘Top Global K-Pop Song.’
Following that, Jungkook ranked 60th on Billboard’s 2024 Year-End Charts as a ‘Top Artist’ of the year, marking the highest achievement among Korean singers.
