Comprehensive Integrity Evaluation of 243 National Councils
Dongducheon City Council Achieves Grade 1
The Dongducheon City Council in Gyeonggi Province (Chairman Kim Seung-ho) announced on the 19th that it received a Grade 1 rating for the second consecutive year in the "2024 Local Council Comprehensive Integrity Evaluation" conducted by the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission.
The comprehensive integrity evaluation of local councils has been conducted for two years; last year, 92 councils were evaluated, and this year, a full evaluation was conducted on 243 local councils nationwide. The Dongducheon City Council received excellent evaluations in both integrity perception and integrity efforts, achieving a Grade 1 rating again this year.
Since the introduction of the evaluation system, only two councils, Dongducheon City Council and Donghae City Council, have consecutively received Grade 1 ratings.
Chairman Kim Seung-ho stated, "This Grade 1 integrity rating is thanks to the efforts of all council members and staff," and added, "We will continue to build a trustworthy Dongducheon City Council through reliable legislative activities."
The Dongducheon City Council plans to strengthen anti-corruption measures and expand communication with citizens to maintain transparent and honest legislative activities. In particular, it intends to bring about changes that citizens can feel by collecting diverse citizen opinions and reflecting them in legislative activities.
