Benoti&AR, a KOSDAQ-listed company led by CEO Jeong Jib-hoon, announced on the 19th that it has made an investment in Alticast to strengthen its robotics business division.
Benoti&AR and Alticast plan to showcase more advanced robot-related services by sharing their respective robot technology and software technology. Alticast is a software specialist company with 25 years of experience developing and supplying optimized software solutions across various fields such as media and mobility, and has customers both domestically and internationally.
Benoti&AR is developing its healthcare robot business, led by wearable robots for rehabilitation therapy, in collaboration with its robotics affiliate Human In Motion Robotics. Human In Motion Robotics made its debut at CES 2025, winning an Innovation Award, and has shown tangible results such as obtaining sales approval from Health Canada for its wearable robot ‘XoMotion-R’.
A representative from Benoti&AR explained, “The main reason for the recent innovative emergence of various robots can be attributed not only to hardware advancements but also to the rapid technological progress in the software field. In particular, software incorporating AI technology, represented by artificial intelligence (AI), is becoming an essential element for developing excellent robots.”
Through this acquisition of Alticast, Benoti&AR plans to expand its business by developing various service robots, including healthcare robots, as part of its robotics business, which it is promoting as a future growth engine. Additionally, as an advanced robotics company, it aims to become a global leader in the market with robot products and services that can further improve the quality of human life.
Jeong Jib-hoon, CEO of Benoti&AR, stated, “Robots are continuously learning and evolving into ‘Robot+AI,’ and the demand for service robots that work closely with people in daily life is steadily increasing. Benoti&AR will secure more differentiated software technologies and target related markets in line with this trend.”
Meanwhile, market research firm MarketUs expects the global robot software market to rapidly grow from approximately $20.1 billion (about 28 trillion KRW) in 2023 to about $98.8 billion (about 141 trillion KRW) by 2032.
