Yeoju-si 2050 Carbon Neutrality and Green Growth Committee Meeting Held
Yeoju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Lee Chung-woo) announced on the 19th that it held the first 2024 "Yeoju City 2050 Carbon Neutral Green Growth Committee" meeting on the 18th at the city hall situation room to realize carbon neutrality by 2050.

This committee, launched for the first time this year, was established to discuss Yeoju City's carbon neutrality policy direction and to promote green growth within the region. In particular, it aims to concretize Yeoju City's vision by deliberating and deciding on carbon-related policies and plans.
The meeting was attended by a total of 13 people, including Vice Mayor Jo Jeong-ah, City Council members Yoo Pil-seon and Lee Sang-sook, heads of related departments, experts from various fields, and representatives of residents. The agenda included the election of co-chairpersons and vice-chairpersons, sharing and discussing the progress of the "Basic Carbon Neutrality Plan" and the "3rd Climate Crisis Adaptation Measures," and establishing the region's carbon neutrality vision and goals.
The report reflecting the discussions from the meeting is scheduled to be completed by February 2025 after consulting with the Korea Environment Corporation. Afterwards, it will be finalized and submitted through deliberation and resolution by the "Yeoju City 2050 Carbon Neutral Green Growth Committee."
Through this committee meeting, Yeoju City plans to seek feasible carbon neutrality measures that consider both the environment and the economy, aiming to create a sustainable Yeoju.
Vice Mayor Jo Jeong-ah stated, "This committee is an important first step for Yeoju City to achieve the 2050 carbon neutrality goal," and added, "We will do our best to establish a feasible carbon neutrality implementation system."
