Daejin University Achieves Prestigious 2024 Future Convergence Interdisciplinary Society Excellent Academic Award

Son Yutae, an undergraduate student in the Department of Smart Convergence Security at Daejin University, along with Lee Dongwoo and Park Seungjun (from the Department of Computer Engineering), who are double majoring, announced on the 19th that their team won the Excellent Academic Award at the 2024 Fall Academic Conference of the Future Convergence Transdisciplinary Society, hosted by the Future Convergence Transdisciplinary Society (President Professor Kim Chanseon).

The team consisting of undergraduate student Son Yutae from the Department of Smart Convergence Security at Daejin University and double majors Lee Dongwoo and Park Seungjun (Department of Computer Engineering) received the Excellent Academic Award at the "2024 Future Convergence Interdisciplinary Society Fall Academic Conference." This academic conference, themed "Ethical Dilemmas in Convergence and Transdisciplinary Research in the AI Era: New Challenges and Tasks," gathered researchers nationwide to present major papers and engage in active academic exchange.

The awarded paper, titled "A Study on Strategies to Prevent Industrial Secret Leakage in Preparation for North-South Korean Unification (Lee Dongwoo, Park Seungjun, Son Yutae, supervised by Professor Park Hyunho)," analyzed recent changes in the international situation and the current status of technology leakage domestically and internationally. It focused on the management of science and technology, scientific talent, and technology access in North Korea during the unification of East and West Germany, earning the Excellent Academic Award. This achievement significantly contributed to the prestige of the Department of Smart Convergence Security at Daejin University.

Professor Park Hyunho stated that, taking this award as an opportunity, “We will actively participate in academic activities and hackathon competitions in the future to continuously develop the department and strengthen students’ career capabilities.”

Meanwhile, the Department of Smart Convergence Security at Daejin University, established in 2023 and currently in its second year, has achieved two excellent results this year through active participation in academic conferences despite being a newly established department. It is expected to contribute to nurturing convergence security talents in the northern Gyeonggi region, which lacks advanced fields.
