Sacheon City Wins Encouragement Award at Gyeongnam Province Regulatory Innovation Best Practices Competition.
Sacheon City was selected as one of the nine final best practices after preliminary screenings (1st and 2nd rounds) in the regulatory innovation category, and as a result of the presentation evaluation at this competition, the Environmental Protection Division was honored with the Encouragement Award.
The case presented by Sacheon City on this day was “Realizing Regulatory Relaxation in Livestock Industry by Allowing Changes in Livestock Species within Livestock Raising Restriction Zones.”
This case improved regulatory difficulties by permitting changes to livestock species within existing facilities in livestock raising restriction zones to species with the same or reduced (shortened) restriction distances.
It achieved regulatory innovation through ordinance amendments to address regulatory difficulties that caused reduced flexibility for livestock farmers and contraction of the livestock industry.
In particular, it was evaluated as contributing to regional development by achieving a 3WIN effect where livestock farmers, residents, and administrative agencies can all coexist harmoniously.
Mayor Park Dongsik said, “This award is the result of listening carefully to the difficulties of the livestock industry and striving to resolve the hardships of livestock farmers in the region,” adding, “We will also take the lead in improving regulatory difficulties for companies and small business owners.”
