Golf culture in Korea is gradually changing. It is shifting from a personal hobby to a family leisure activity. Golf is no longer just a pleasure for golfers but a sport to enjoy with family. We introduce the ‘Field 3GO’ golf courses that are suitable for spending happy times with golf. This time, it is Lakeside Country Club (CC) located in Cheoin-gu, Yongin-si, Gyeonggi-do.

◆EnjoyGO= Lakeside CC is a golf course frequently visited by golfers. It was designed by Nakano Yu, Japan’s top golf course designer. It is a picturesque course that preserves the natural scenery as it is. Each hole is highly distinctive. Thorough green management is also a competitive advantage of Lakeside CC. In July 1990, the public 36-hole East Course and South Course were opened, and in September 1997, the private 18-hole West Course was launched. Lakeside is natural, ecological, and eco-friendly. Compared to other golf courses, various animals inhabit the area. The scale, facilities, service, and course conditions are top-notch. High shot value and course fairness stand out.

It is famous as a tournament course. In 1997, the Samsung World Championship of the U.S. Women’s Professional Golf (LPGA) Tour was held here, and from 2001 to 2015, the Lakeside Women’s Open of the Korean Ladies Professional Golf Association (KLPGA) Tour took place. In 2018, it hosted the Korea Professional Golfers’ Association (KPGA) Tour KEB Hana Bank Invitational. It has also hosted many tour events such as the Shinhan Donghae Open, Seoul Economic Women’s Open, and Woori Investment & Securities Championship. Since 1997, it has been holding the Ikseong Cup MaeKyung Amateur Golf Tournament.

Lakeside CC is a golf course with a long tradition. It has a dignified charm. Among the three courses of Lakeside, the East Course is the most masculine and challenging style. It has been a regular venue for men’s tournaments for many years. The South Course is long and tricky. It maintains standards and course settings suitable for international tournaments. Following two lakes, you can feel the grandeur. The West Course allows for a private round. The course length has been continuously extended to eliminate the feeling of shortness.

◆EatGO= The Lakeside CC clubhouse is a resting space where you can feel nature. It is elegant and full of dignity. You can enjoy food made with the finest ingredients while overlooking the course. The clubhouse restaurant offers Korean, Chinese, Western, and fusion cuisine. You can quench your thirst and fatigue with fragrant wines from around the world, beautiful coffee, and carefully managed beer. There is a VIP room for classy gatherings and a 90-seat banquet hall for group teams.

When you visit Lakeside CC, you can enjoy a very special coffee. The coffee is roasted and brewed by professional baristas who have undergone thorough training at a barista professional training institution. You can experience coffee with your eyes, nose, and mouth. Roasting is done twice a week, ensuring freshness as a strong point.

The rest huts are adorned with flowers and trees that excite customers’ hearts. From the East Course rest hut, you can see Cheonsuho Lake. The beautifully sculpted structure enhances the taste of the food. The South Course rest hut features a pear tree that is a spectacular sight. When the pear tree blossoms in spring, it excites golfers’ hearts. The beautiful scenery of Jangsuho Lake is a bonus. The West Course rest hut offers a view of colorful autumn leaves that are like art. It is impressive that a Chinese cuisine chef personally provides the dishes.

◆SeeGO= Near Lakeside CC is Everland. It is a theme park that offers joyful rest and happiness with various facilities such as seasonal festivals, attractions, a zoo, and a botanical garden. The 40-plus latest attractions in five theme zones provide thrilling excitement. Especially, the wooden coaster T Express is popular among roller coaster enthusiasts. Various stage performances and multimedia fireworks shows throughout the park add new enjoyment every day. It is open 365 days a year without holidays.
