Recently, Sudi posted a video on her Instagram. In the video, Sudi shared footage of herself boarding a luxury airplane and heading to the island her husband purchased. The video also showed peaceful views of the island. Regarding this, Sudi said, "I recently told my husband I wanted to wear a bikini, and he bought me a private island," adding, "My husband wants me to be safe on the beach." She continued, "I cannot reveal the exact location due to privacy, but it is in Asia, and the price is approximately 50 million dollars (about 71.8 billion won)." When criticized by netizens, Sudi said, "It is also for investment purposes," but deleted the video soon after the controversy spread.

The video drew mixed reactions from netizens worldwide. Some commented, "She married well," "How much money does he have if he buys an island just because she said a word," and "If you envy, you lose, but she has already experienced too many defeats." On the other hand, some netizens wrote comments such as, "Dubai is a safe country, so why post such videos?" "The show-off and pretentiousness are too much," and "Is there any proof that she bought that island?"

Meanwhile, on social networking services (SNS), the number of influencers flaunting their wealth like Sudi is increasing. Among them, some influencers have faced trouble after being exposed for falsely showing off their wealth. In 2022, a Chinese influencer posted on her SNS, "My mother bought me 10 houses," "My father holds a high government position," and "I drank a car worth 200,000 yuan (about 38 million won) per jin," and was investigated by the government. The investigation revealed that most of the influencer’s posts were false, causing controversy.
