Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance Included in Dow Jones Sustainability World Index

Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance announced on the 19th that it has been included in the World Index, the highest rating in the '2024 Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) evaluation,' a global ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) representative assessment indicator.

DJSI is an index announced annually that comprehensively considers not only financial performance but also ESG aspects for over 2,500 companies with the highest market capitalization worldwide. It is a global ESG evaluation index jointly developed by the prestigious U.S. S&P Dow Jones and Swiss RobecoSAM. The World Index includes only about 250 companies, representing the top 10%.

Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance is the only domestic insurance company included in the World Index, the highest rating, proving its global ESG management performance. In the environmental sector, it is promoting environmental management through climate change response by expanding eco-friendly investments and disclosing analyses of biodiversity (TNFD) natural dependency and impact.

In the social sector, it practices customer-centered shared growth finance by opening the 'Cancer Patient Quality of Life Research Institute' together with Samsung Medical Center, and achieved first place for 24 consecutive years in the National Customer Satisfaction Index (NCSI) in the non-life insurance sector through efforts to strengthen financial consumer protection.

In the governance sector, Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance has established a board-centered corporate governance system and continues efforts to advance the ESG management system through organizational restructuring to promote ESG management.
