Group NewJeans' agency ADOR has expressed concerns regarding the opening of a new social networking service (SNS) account.
On the 18th, ADOR stated, "NewJeans has dedicated platforms for communicating with fans, as well as official SNS accounts such as Instagram and X (Twitter)." They added, "ADOR hopes that NewJeans members will continue to interact with fans through these official channels as before."
On the 14th, NewJeans opened a new Instagram account named 'jeanzforfree' and has been actively posting photos to engage with fans. This marks their first independent activity following the announcement of the termination of their exclusive contract with ADOR.
The members said, "It's really us," and "We will meet more often here."
Former ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin has been continuously liking the posts uploaded by the members.
Regarding this, ADOR stated, "All accounts other than NewJeans' official SNS accounts established by ADOR have been created without prior consultation as per the exclusive contract. There have been actual inquiries and complaints from third parties such as advertisers concerning these accounts and their content, which is a cause for concern." They added, "Separate entertainment activities conducted through these accounts may cause legal issues, and ADOR has conveyed these concerns to the artists and their legal representatives."
On the same day, NewJeans members also posted Vogue Korea photos on the 'jeanzforfree' account. The photoshoot does not include the team name but only the members' names: Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, and Hyein. Former CEO Min participated in this photoshoot as the special creative director.
