The event was organized to share the operational achievements of the student separate education program, which started nationwide for the first time in 2024, and to promote its expansion and activation throughout the entire Gyeonggi Province.

At this event, education support office supervisors and officers in charge of student separate education attended. Based on their actual operational experiences in each region, they discussed pre-communication with parents and homeroom teachers, continuous monitoring after education, attendance recognition and absence processing, budget support for operation, and solutions and alternatives considering the characteristics of regions with a small number of students.

Additionally, cases promoted by the education support offices were shared, including ▲ youth mental counseling and forest education-centered shared school operation (Suwon) ▲ integrated character education program operation (Hwaseong-Osan) ▲ the four-stage HUG (self-understanding, self-exploration, respect for others, relationship formation) shared school character education case (Icheon).

Furthermore, to activate student separate education in 2025, major plans were introduced such as ▲ the formation and operation of a dedicated task force (TF) for activating student separate education ▲ exploring support measures for the operation of student separate education ▲ establishing a support system for student separate education operation including budget support.

Lee Jeong-hyun, Director of the Education Capacity Policy Division at the Provincial Office of Education, said, “The ‘Academic Discontinuation Reflection System,’ first implemented by the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education in the past, is now a policy that greatly benefits students nationwide,” adding, “I believe that the ‘Student Separate Education’ program, newly introduced by the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education this year, will also greatly help protect teachers’ educational activities and guarantee students’ right to learn.”
