BPA Special Joint Inspection to Ensure Port Workers' Safety Against Heavy Snow and Cold Waves

Busan Port Authority (BPA, President Kang Jun-seok) conducted a special joint inspection on the 18th with related organizations targeting Busan Port North Port to ensure the safety of port workers vulnerable to cold-related illnesses due to long hours of outdoor work during winter.

This special inspection focused on visiting rest facilities of subcontractor workers responsible for dock security management to check the availability and use of cold illness prevention items such as heating devices, and compliance with safety rules during severe cold weather.

Additionally, the inspection verified the condition of fire extinguishing equipment and facilities that are immediately deployed in case of fire caused by overheating of heating and electric devices. Problems identified through the inspection will be addressed with countermeasures to prevent accidents in advance.

BPA President Kang Jun-seok stated, “Due to the nature of the port environment, port workers are at high risk of cold-related illnesses from long hours of outdoor work, so continuous guidance should be provided to ensure they wear cold protection gear.” He added, “Please actively use heating and electric devices to maintain body temperature, but be careful to prevent damage from safety accidents such as fires.”

BPA Special Joint Inspection to Ensure Port Workers' Safety Against Heavy Snow and Cold Waves Hong Seong-jun, Head of Operations Division, is conducting an on-site inspection of the Bukhang pier facilities.
