Exploring Measures to Improve Working Conditions and Provide Efficient Financial Support for Transportation Workers
Goyang Special City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Lee Dong-hwan) announced on the 18th that it held the final report meeting for the village bus management analysis research project conducted throughout 2024 at the Goyang Talent Education Center Conference Hall on the 17th.

At the report meeting, the 2nd Deputy Mayor (Lee Jeong-hwa), village bus transportation company officials, and the research firm (Daehyun Accounting Corporation) attended to discuss the shortage of transportation workers and to deliberate on ways to improve village bus operations that citizens can directly experience.
The village bus management analysis research project is conducted annually by Goyang City to analyze the management status and costs of each transportation company, and to prepare efficient financial support measures for maintaining remote and deficit routes. In 2024, to enhance accounting expertise, the project was carried out through Daehyun Accounting Corporation from May to December.
The main topics of the report meeting included ▲analysis of transportation costs by village bus company and route ▲current status of worsening management environment such as shortage of transportation workers ▲measures to improve working conditions for transportation workers ▲improvement plans for financial support efficiency. Through vivid voices from transportation company officials and comprehensive analysis by experts, a passionate discussion was held to improve village bus operations.
An official from the Bus Policy Division stated, “Based on the research project results, we will increase the operation rate of village buses, which are the capillaries of urban transportation, to establish the ‘Comprehensive Transportation Hub Network,’ the administrative goal of the 8th elected government, and provide stable public transportation services to minimize inconvenience for citizens.”
