Chungnam TP Provides Customized Commercialization Funding for Promising Local Companies

Chungnam Province and Chungnam Technopark announced on the 18th that they have provided customized business funds for technology development and other purposes to promising local companies.

According to Technopark, Unicoretech Co., Ltd., a company specializing in wire harness manufacturing and automation equipment, established its headquarters in Cheongju, Chungbuk in 2017 and has continuously conducted research and development with the goal of localizing harness technology. However, it faced limitations due to initial capital and technology development constraints.

In response, the company moved into the company-affiliated research institute at Chungnam Technopark in 2021, and with support from Technopark, achieved significant results through ongoing research and development.

Unicoretech succeeded in localizing eco-friendly high-voltage terminals for vehicles and automated equipment technology for cleaning wire harnesses. In addition, it commercialized deep learning-based process audit technology and enhanced export competitiveness by collaborating with global clients through customized automation equipment.

As a result, this year, the company offset the decrease in sales due to the slowdown in wiring harness demand by expanding into new harness automation equipment business areas, achieving sales of 19.682 billion KRW, a 29% increase from last year's 15.158 billion KRW. The company also contributed to local talent job creation by hiring six new employees.

Chungnam Technopark connects government-funded research and development projects and provides R&D cooperation networks to help companies alleviate the burden of initial technology development costs. It also supports the growth of local companies through technology development, business funding, and network connections.
