"'Hostile Symbiosis' and 'Dizygotic Twins'
'Kukhim Must Abandon Yoon to Have a Chance Against the Minjoo Party'"
Professor Kim Geun-sik, head of the People Power Party's Songpa-byeong district committee in Seoul and a professor in the Department of Political Science and Diplomacy at Gyeongnam National University, referred to President Yoon Seok-yeol and Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, as 'dogin-gaein' (six of one, half a dozen of the other).
On the 18th, Professor Kim criticized both figures on his social media account, saying, "Lee Jae-myung or Yoon Seok-yeol, it's dogin-gaein." He added, "Lee Jae-myung deliberately refuses to accept the notice of lawsuit records by using unknown address or absence from home to delay the second trial of the Public Official Election Act. Lee Jae-myung suddenly urges Han Duck-soo, the acting prime minister whom the Democratic Party itself pushed for impeachment, to hasten the appointment of Constitutional Court justices." He continued, "Yoon Seok-yeol refuses to accept notices, refuses to appear, and refuses investigations to delay the Constitutional Court impeachment hearings and the prosecution and police investigations into the rebellion. His words a few days ago before the public, saying 'I will face the investigation and trial confidently,' ring hollow."

He went on, "Lee Jae-myung was elected because people disliked Yoon Seok-yeol, and Lee Jae-myung is holding on because he dislikes Yoon Seok-yeol. This relationship is called 'hostile symbiosis,' and politically, they are 'fraternal twins.'" He added, "Are you competing by saying, 'If you are a monster, then I will be a monster too'? Is Yoon Seok-yeol doing it just because Lee Jae-myung does? Is the president responsible for upholding the rule of law only capable of this?" He then warned, "Ultimately, it is advantageous to separate Lee Jae-myung and Yoon Seok-yeol first. Therefore, the People Power Party 'without Yoon Seok-yeol' would be better than the Democratic Party 'with Lee Jae-myung.' We must abandon Yoon Seok-yeol for our People Power Party to survive, and only then can we stand a chance against the Democratic Party that can never abandon Lee Jae-myung."
Currently, it is known that President Yoon has not accepted the National Assembly's impeachment resolution sent by the Constitutional Court. On the 17th, Lee Jin, the Constitutional Court spokesperson, stated in a briefing, "It was delivered by hand to the Presidential Office, and an administrative officer received it, but no receipt was obtained." On the same day, the Joint Investigation Headquarters for Martial Law (JIH) also sent a summons to President Yoon, but it was returned due to refusal of acceptance at the Hannam-dong residence. A JIH official said, "We were refused acceptance at both the Presidential Office and the residence, so we could not deliver it by hand," adding, "The Security Office claimed it was not their responsibility." The Presidential Office also expressed uncertainty about whether delivering a summons during the president's suspension from duty falls under their duties.
On the 18th, the prosecution explained that the case involving President Yoon and former Minister of the Interior and Safety Lee Sang-min on charges of rebellion would be transferred to the High-ranking Officials' Crime Investigation Office (HOCI). Additionally, the request to transfer other suspects was withdrawn by HOCI. The JIH stated regarding the transfer, "The Joint Investigation Headquarters, consisting of the National Police Agency's Criminal Investigation Headquarters, HOCI, and the Defense Ministry's Investigation Headquarters, will conduct a strict investigation to the end in accordance with law and principles."
