"Yoon, Even When Advised, Only Goes in the Opposite Direction"
"Handonghun Has Many Third-Rate Strategists Around Him"
Lee Jun-seok, a member of the Reform New Party, claimed that President Yoon Seok-yeol and Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, "will increasingly resemble each other."
On the 18th, Lee appeared on Channel A radio's 'Political Signal' and mentioned President Yoon, Lee Jae-myung, and former People Power Party leader Han Dong-hoon. First, he said, "If President Yoon asked me, 'What should I do about Leader Lee?' I would say, 'Serves you right. Why did you do that? Do you think you're so great?' and then tell him, 'This is what you should do.'" He added, "I gave good advice to President Yoon, but he always went in the opposite direction like a contrarian." He then criticized the time when former leader Han Dong-hoon was considering running for the party leadership election, saying, "I told Han’s friend, lawyer Kim Tae-hyun, and others to say, 'I hope he doesn't run,' 'Take a political hiatus,' and 'Meet many people,' but it was useless." He pointed out, "It seems many third-rate strategists surrounded former leader Han. They were not insightful people but rather those who traded information while calling each other brother or younger brother."
Lee said, "People like President Yoon, who take politics lightly, watch TV and say 'Oh' and then try to recruit those people as close aides to do politics," adding, "Those people deceive others by pretending to be great strategists, saying, 'This guy watches a lot of TV and YouTube. Let's start our own channel.' This pattern has become the context of conservative politics." He also emphasized, "Those people are now revealing everything they said to President Yoon when he was lonely and called them. Soon, they will reveal all the countless things they said to former leader Han."
Lee also claimed, "Leader Lee Jae-myung has been trying to delay trial procedures for several years, and President Yoon also shows continuous intentions to delay things like this. The two will increasingly resemble each other." He added, "They will become mirrors to each other, thinking, 'I can do as much as that person does.' I once said it was a 'battle between two proud fools,' and it seems it will be like that."
Meanwhile, the Reform New Party, to which Lee belongs, sparked internal conflict rumors after replacing three key secretariat figures?Secretary-General Kim Cheol-geun, Deputy Head of Strategic Planning Jeong Jae-jun, and Deputy Head of Organization Lee Kyung-sun?on the 16th. The party officials issued a statement the next day, claiming, "During the last term, Party Leader Heo Eun-ah put vision and policy aside and mobilized the party and secretariat officials solely to promote herself, 'Heo Eun-ah.'" In response, Lee criticized on his social media account, saying, "A person in a position of complete isolation should resolve the issue themselves," and questioned, "How can someone be rejected by everyone who loves the party in such a short time?"
