Time-Selective Union Presents Appreciation Plaque to National Assembly Member Park Jeong-hyun

The National Part-Time Public Officials Labor Union (Chairperson Jeong Seong-hye) presented a plaque of appreciation to Park Jeong-hyun, a member of the National Assembly from the Democratic Party of Korea and a member of the National Assembly's Public Administration and Security Committee (Daejeon Daedeok-gu), at 9 a.m. on the 18th.

This presentation of the plaque of appreciation was made to express the gratitude of the Part-Time Public Officials Labor Union.

Jeong Seong-hye, Chairperson of the Part-Time Public Officials Labor Union, stated, "At the comprehensive audit of the National Assembly's Public Administration and Security Committee on October 25, Assemblyman Park Jeong-hyun pointed out that although the maximum working hours for part-time public officials are set at 35 hours per week, in reality, including overtime, they are working over 40 hours per week. He mentioned complaints that public officials face discrimination in promotion and pay, as well as difficulties experienced by local government personnel departments."

She added, "I was deeply moved by the assemblyman's remarks that the system needs improvement. We decided to present this plaque of appreciation to express our gratitude for his support in making this system improvement possible."

After receiving the plaque of appreciation, Assemblyman Park Jeong-hyun said, "During my tenure as the head of Daedeok District Office, I regularly held meetings with lower-level public officials to listen to their difficulties and worked to resolve them. I requested the government to improve the system for part-time public officials during the national audit, but I believe it is important that this does not end there and that the system improvement is actually implemented. Let us work together to ensure that the system improvement is realized."
