Increase of About 100 Billion Won Compared to This Year... Efforts to Secure External Funding Bear Fruit
The main budget for Seosan City, Chungnam for next year has been finalized at 1.2498 trillion won, an increase of about 100 billion won compared to 2024.
According to the city on the 18th, the finalized main budget consists of 1.1253 trillion won for the general account and 124.5 billion won for the special account.
Despite difficult fiscal conditions caused by the economic downturn, the city made efforts to secure external funding, including being selected for public contest projects, and succeeded in increasing national and provincial subsidies.
Through intensive restructuring of expenditures, the city minimized consumable expenses while increasing the budget for industries, small and medium-sized enterprises, and the energy sector by 194% compared to the 2024 main budget to secure future growth engines.
In terms of total budget by sector, the social welfare sector, which includes support for the elderly, childcare, and vulnerable groups, accounts for the largest share at 355.8 billion won.
In addition, the environment sector follows with 198.1 billion won, and the agriculture, forestry, maritime, and fisheries sector with 198 billion won.
Lee Wanseop, Mayor of Seosan, said, "We have organized the budget to promote the stabilization of people's livelihoods and revitalize the local economy while maintaining sound fiscal management," adding, "Based on this, we will efficiently implement projects that are essential for citizens in 2025."
