No Agenda Has Been Set Separately

The Korean Medical Association (KMA) and the Emergency Committee of the Korean Intern Resident Association (KIRA) will hold a closed-door meeting with the Chairpersons of the National Assembly's Education Committee and Health and Welfare Committee.

On the 18th, the KMA and KIRA Emergency Committee announced that on the 19th at 3 p.m., they will hold a closed-door meeting at the KMA headquarters in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, with Kim Young-ho, Chairperson of the Education Committee and member of the Democratic Party, and Park Joo-min, Chairperson of the Health and Welfare Committee and member of the Democratic Party.

From the medical community, Park Hyung-wook, Chairperson of the KMA Emergency Committee, and Park Dan, Chairperson of the KIRA Emergency Committee, will attend. According to a KMA Emergency Committee official, no specific agenda has been set for the meeting. It is expected that discussions will cover the overall medical crisis, including next year's medical school quota.

Attention is focused on whether this meeting will provide a breakthrough to resolve the medical crisis. The consultative body among the ruling party, opposition, medical community, and government was suspended earlier this month due to the withdrawal of medical organizations, and currently, there is no official consultative body between medical organizations and the National Assembly.
