Ulsan City Selected as an Excellent Local Government for Organization and Workforce Management

Recognition for Efficient and Proactive Organizational Management Efforts... Secured 200 Million Won in Special Grants

Ulsan City has been selected as an excellent local government in the 2024 Organization and Workforce Operation Efficiency Evaluation conducted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, receiving a special grant of 200 million KRW.

The Ministry of the Interior and Safety annually conducts a comprehensive evaluation of the efficiency and appropriateness of organization and workforce operations across local governments nationwide, selecting outstanding local governments.

This year, Ulsan City efficiently readjusted 3.6% of its general staff by not increasing the total number of personnel, reducing staff in declining and shrinking sectors, and reallocating personnel to areas with new administrative demands in response to changes in administrative conditions.

Additionally, it received favorable evaluations by enhancing workforce operation efficiency through proactive organizational management, such as consolidating similar and overlapping functions.

An official from Ulsan City stated, “We will continue to actively promote the efficiency of organization and personnel through meticulous organizational diagnosis and create a demand-centered administrative environment that citizens can feel.”

Ulsan City plans to implement an organizational restructuring effective January 1, 2025, to improve organizational efficiency in the economic, industrial, and corporate investment sectors, prepare for large-scale international events, and ensure the sustainable development of the Haeoreum Alliance.
