"Need to Broadly Hear Voices and Form Emergency Committee"
As the People Power Party has begun transitioning to an Emergency Response Committee (ERC) system, Rep. Yoon Sang-hyun of the People Power Party raised his voice, saying, "We must broadly listen to voices inside and outside the party and form the ERC to undergo a complete transformation."
On the 17th, Rep. Yoon stated on Facebook, "The People Power Party is currently in a crisis like a shipwreck," adding, "We all bear great responsibility. It is difficult to gain public support if those most responsible for the crisis try to come up with solutions among themselves."
Rep. Yoon said, "Leadership to overcome the crisis and prevent sinking while finding a course is desperately needed, but we are still trapped in the quagmire of subtractive politics and internal conflicts," and "Everyone knows that the cause of the shipwreck lies within."
He continued, "If we do not listen to the voices of the crew who are on board together and crying out, we will all eventually sink," adding, "We must broadly listen to the voices of party members and find solutions."
He emphasized, "The great Russian writer Nikolai Nekrasov said, 'To live without sorrow and anger is to not love one's homeland.' Living without anger and sorrow toward the party means not loving the party," and stressed, "With a desperate determination to blow up the party center, which has been rife with selfishness and cowardice, we must embark on the party’s creative destruction and comprehensive great reform."
Rep. Yoon said, "To face the current situation and overcome the crisis, it will be helpful to widely gather voices not only from affiliated lawmakers but also from party members and civic groups that still support our party to save the shipwreck."
