Discussion on Promoting Joint Recruitment Briefings and Nurturing Local Talent
Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province held the '9th Innovation City Local Talent Recruitment Working Council' at the Jeonbuk Tech Biz Center in Innovation City on the 17th.
The working council, attended by about 30 participants including six relocated public institutions in Innovation City such as the National Pension Service, the Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Provincial Office of Education, and representatives from local universities, discussed various agendas to expand employment opportunities for local talents in the Jeonbuk area.

The main discussion topics included: ▲ Schedule and key programs for the 2025 joint recruitment briefing session for relocated public institutions ▲ Each institution's 2024 local talent recruitment performance and 2025 plans ▲ Cooperation matters by institution for local talent employment, among others.
Measures to strengthen cooperation between relocated public institutions and local universities were also discussed. The public institutions shared plans such as ▲ Operation of job and field training education (Open Campus) for university students ▲ Expansion of experiential internship recruitment ▲ Application of additional points system at each recruitment stage for local talents. Local universities requested cooperation in ▲ Sharing university student local talent development projects ▲ Providing opportunities for visits to relocated public institutions and mentoring by current employees.
'Local Talent Recruitment' is a system that mandates relocated public institutions in Innovation City to hire a certain percentage of new employees from graduates of universities or high schools in the relevant metropolitan area.
According to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, Jeonbuk achieved outstanding results by exceeding its annual targets with 28.3% in 2020, 36.5% in 2021, 32.8% in 2022, and 61.5% in 2023.
Lee Chanjun, Director of Construction Policy, said, "Based on the discussions from this council, we will concretize the plan for next year's joint recruitment briefing session and further strengthen cooperation with public institutions. We will actively strive to establish a foundation for local talents to secure stable employment and develop Innovation City into a region that grows together with the local community."
