Pocheon-si Holds 2024 Library Operation Committee Appointment Ceremony and Meeting

Pocheon City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Baek Young-hyun) announced on the 17th that it held the '2024 Pocheon City Library Operation Committee' member appointment ceremony and meeting at the Pocheon City Hall administrative meeting room on the 16th.

At this appointment ceremony, 12 operation committee members with experience and knowledge in the fields of libraries, culture, and education were appointed. The members will perform various roles to enhance library operation efficiency and promote reading culture.

During the meeting, discussions for library development took place, including ▲presentation of appointment letters ▲election of vice-chairman and data management review committee members ▲report on major achievements of the library in 2024 and key work plans for 2025.

Mayor Baek Young-hyun of Pocheon said, “Libraries have now become complex cultural spaces for citizens' rest and communication beyond just places to read books,” and added, “I hope the Library Operation Committee will play a pivotal role in the development of libraries and the promotion of reading culture.”
