Amid the National Assembly's approval of the impeachment motion against President Yoon Suk-yeol, a post appeared claiming that singer IU was reported to the United States Central Intelligence Agency (CIA).


On the 16th, a post titled "Reported IU to the CIA" was uploaded to the People Power Party Emergency Committee gallery on DC Inside. The author, Mr. A, attached an image showing the submission of the report to the CIA and suggested, "Let's start a certification relay." Additionally, he posted a "Yoon Suk-yeol Impeachment Support List," which collected the names and photos of celebrities who voiced support for the rallies calling for President Yoon's impeachment or showed support through advance payments, including IU, NewJeans, Go Min-si, Yoon Jong-shin, Lee Seung-hwan, Girls' Generation's Yuri and Seohyun, Park Hyo-shin, Park Bo-young, and Lee Jong-suk. The image also included a link to report these individuals to the CIA. The CIA is known to operate a separate reporting site where one can submit reports by entering phone numbers, emails, and details about the incident.

Earlier, on the 13th, a day before the vote on the impeachment motion against President Yoon, IU's agency, Edam Entertainment, announced through the official fan cafe that they had made advance payments for participants of the rally. They stated, "We prepared food and hot packs hoping that the hands of UAENAs (the fandom name), who are holding IU light sticks and attending the rally in the cold weather, would be a little warmer while brightly lighting up the surroundings," and added, "Please take care of your health and safety and kindly visit the designated stores." According to the announcement, IU's side made advance payments for 700 food items at a total of five nearby locations, including bakeries and gukbap (soup with rice) restaurants near the National Assembly in Yeouido, Seoul, where the rally was held.


The group NewJeans also announced on their newly created social media (SNS) account on the 14th, the day of the rally, "We prepared a small gift for Bunnies (the fandom name) and K-pop fans," revealing that they had made advance payments for food at four restaurants in Yeouido. Girls' Generation's Yuri also shared on a fan communication platform that she had prepaid for kimbap for fans participating in the rally, saying, "Everyone, eat kimbap tomorrow and fill your stomachs." The day before, she sent a message of encouragement, saying, "Are you doing well in the cold? The SoWonBong (Girls' Generation light stick) looked pretty and cool," and added, "I also enjoyed seeing 'Into the New World' resonate. I listen to it every day." In addition, numerous celebrities have expressed their concerns about the martial law situation and support for rally participants through social media or official statements.
