Transferred to a resident convenience facility in March this year
Controversy spreads ahead of discharge scheduled for the 23rd
Song Minho of the group WINNER, currently serving as a social service agent, has been embroiled in allegations of attendance manipulation.
On the 17th, Dispatch raised suspicions that Song Minho visited the Mapo Resident Convenience Facility, where he is serving as a social service agent, 10 times but never met anyone. The attendance records at the institution are handwritten. According to Dispatch, this allows the person in charge to forge attendance times or sign multiple entries at once at their discretion.

In addition to the attendance manipulation allegations, Dispatch claimed that Song Minho started his alternative service at the Mapo Facility Management Corporation on March 24 last year but transferred to the Resident Convenience Facility a year later in March this year. Dispatch further reported that "Resident Facility Manager Mr. L assigned Song Minho" and that Mr. L concealed poor attendance by explaining the attendance manipulation allegations with excuses such as "today is annual leave," "today is sick leave," and "today is hospitalization."
Earlier, the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission recommended establishing a 'Public Service Agent Service Code' and ordered that attendance be recorded electronically, such as with attendance cards, if necessary for service management. However, these recommendations were not being followed at Song Minho's workplace. Regarding this, the Mapo District Office stated, "We are currently investigating the matter and will announce our position once confirmed."
Meanwhile, Song Minho enlisted in the army training center on March 24 last year, underwent basic military training, and began alternative service as a social service agent. He is scheduled to be discharged on the 23rd. During this period, when he left for the United States last April to attend his younger sibling's wedding, netizens debated his trip to the U.S. Some netizens also argued that his long hair was inconsistent with basic military training, claiming that it would be impossible to maintain such a hairstyle if he had undergone basic military training. In response to the controversy at the time, his agency YG Entertainment stated, "(Song Minho) left the country through official procedures" and "he was classified as exempt from basic military training after review by the Military Manpower Administration."
Song Minho's reason for exemption from basic military training has not been disclosed. However, under the Military Service Act, if a person is classified as Grade 4 supplementary service due to mental illnesses such as depression or is judged physically unfit for training due to illness, basic military training is exempted. Prior to his alternative service, Song Minho had revealed that he suffered from panic disorder and bipolar disorder.
