Next Year’s Promising Tourist City Dongducheon, Cultural Tourism Guide Placement Review

Dongducheon City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Park Hyung-deok) announced on the 17th that it held a placement evaluation on the 13th at the Dongducheon City Hall small conference room to decide the deployment of cultural tourism interpreters for 2024.

Cultural tourism interpreters are volunteers who provide professional explanations about tourism resources such as history, culture, and arts to offer visitors opportunities for understanding, appreciation, and experience.

Dongducheon City deploys cultural tourism interpreters to promote tourism activation and holds placement evaluations annually to provide high-quality explanations to tourists.

The evaluation was conducted in the form of a 10-minute presentation by the cultural tourism interpreters introducing major tourist attractions in the Dongducheon area.

A Dongducheon City official stated, “We hope this placement evaluation will serve as a stepping stone for tourists to receive even higher-quality explanations in 2025,” adding, “As cultural tourism interpreters are the city’s face directly meeting visitors, we ask them to take pride in contributing to enhancing the tourism image and revitalizing the local economy, and to continue demonstrating their interpretive skills to the fullest as they have done so far.”
