"Unable to Attend Press Conference Due to Emergency Room Visit"
"Absolute Stability and Recovery Needed"
Remaining Filming to Resume After Recovery
Actress Go Hyun-jung was absent from the drama production presentation due to a sudden health deterioration, but it has been reported that she will return to filming after recovery.
Go Hyun-jung did not attend the production presentation of the Genie TV·ENA drama "Namib" (written by Eom Seong-min, directed by Han Sang-jae and Kang Min-gu), which was scheduled to be held on the 16th at The Saint in Sindorim-dong, Guro-gu, Seoul. Originally, director Kang Min-gu and actors Go Hyun-jung, Ryeo Woon, Yoon Sang-hyun, and Lee Jin-woo were expected to attend the event that day. However, about two hours before the event, the production team announced, "We inform you that actress Go Hyun-jung will not be attending the Genie TV original drama 'Namib' production presentation scheduled for 2 PM today due to a sudden health deterioration," adding, "Based on the medical staff's opinion that absolute rest and recovery are necessary, her absence was inevitably decided. We ask for your kind understanding."
Due to Go Hyun-jung's absence, only director Kang and three actors were present at the venue. Director Kang spoke about her health condition at the production presentation, saying, "Actress Go Hyun-jung has been working very hard and putting in a lot of effort, so there were some physical difficulties," and added, "She never left during filming on set; she left after finishing everything, but there were moments when she seemed a bit exhausted." He further stated, "There are two days of filming left. I believe actress Go Hyun-jung will finish it with her strong willpower."
Later, Go Hyun-jung’s agency NS ENM explained, "Go Hyun-jung had to go to the emergency room this morning, so she was unable to attend the drama event." Although it has not yet been decided whether filming will resume, it is known that she plans to return to filming as soon as her condition improves. Upon hearing the news, netizens expressed their concern on her social media accounts with comments such as "Wishing you a speedy recovery" and "Hope to see you well again soon."
Meanwhile, Go Hyun-jung will be returning to TV dramas after three years since JTBC's "The Person Who Looks Like You" through "Namib." "Namib" depicts the story of Kang Soo-hyun (Go Hyun-jung), a fired star producer, and Yoo Jin-woo (Ryeo Woon), a released long-term trainee, as they meet and pursue their respective goals. The drama is set to premiere on the 23rd at 10 PM.
