This concert held special significance as it featured performances not only by the Namyangju City Choir, the Namyangju City Boys and Girls Choir, and a 40-member orchestra, but also by a citizen choir of over 400 members from 14 eup, myeon, and dong districts.
The concert program encompassed both traditional Korean music and Western music, offering citizens a diverse musical experience.
Starting with the boys and girls choir's song and dance performances of ‘Ganggangsullae’ and ‘Mugunghwa,’ the city choir followed with a male quartet performing ‘You Raise Me Up’ and ‘Perhaps Love.’
The highlight was the performance of the fourth movement ‘Chorus’ from Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9, which reached a climax in atmosphere, and the final stage featured the orchestra and over 500 performers singing together ‘Hweolhweol Narayo’ to conclude the concert.
Mayor Joo Gwang-deok said, “I am truly proud and respectful of the citizens who have done their best in their respective places throughout this year. I hope today’s concert becomes a time to deliver healing and happiness to the heart,” adding, “I send my wholehearted applause to the city choir, the boys and girls choir, and the citizen choir.”
Meanwhile, the Namyangju City Art Troupe plans to continue delivering the emotional impact of culture and arts to citizens with diverse planned performances in 2025 as well.
