Apple has opened the door to the era of artificial intelligence (AI). On the 12th (local time), Apple announced that it will integrate ChatGPT into its voice assistant Siri through the iOS 18.2 update. This is seen as a move that allows billions of iPhone users easier access to AI.

The newly upgraded Siri can now utilize the advanced AI capabilities of ChatGPT beyond simply executing basic commands. The Wall Street Journal commented, "Just three months ago, the iPhone was considered unnecessary to purchase, but now it has become a tool that stimulates human creativity."

Apple's announcement has further accelerated the AI competition in the global IT industry. Google unveiled its AI model 'Gemini 2.0' just hours before Apple's announcement.
