Proposal for Concrete Business Plans Through '5-Minute Free Speech'

On the 16th, Kim Bong-seong, a member of the Muan County Council in Jeollanam-do, made a suggestion regarding the 'Concrete Plan for Follow-up Projects of the Ceramic Complex Industry Special Zone' at the 1st plenary session of the 299th extraordinary meeting.

During his '5-minute free speech,' Councilor Kim stated, "Despite challenging conditions, Muan County's ceramic industry has driven the local economy," and evaluated, "At the end of last year, the Ceramic Complex Industry Special Zone was designated as a Regional Specialized Development Zone, creating an opportunity to leap forward as a hub city for the ceramic industry."

Councilor Kim said, "However, follow-up projects after the special zone designation have not met expectations," and proposed "strengthening the governance system based on industry-government-academia cooperation, resolving the gap between the basic plan and the execution plan, and establishing a dedicated organization for the special zone to ensure its successful implementation."

He continued, "The designation of the special zone is merely the preparation of a 'stage,' and if substantial content is not filled within it, there is a risk that only an empty shell will remain," emphasizing, "Muan County must concentrate all its capabilities to become a hub city for the ceramic industry."

Meanwhile, Councilor Kim expressed hope that "this proposal will be reviewed from multiple perspectives and that the Muan County Ceramic Complex Industry Special Zone will become a foundation that leads to a virtuous cycle of regional economic revitalization and job creation."
