Discussion on 2025 College Entrance and Education Policies at the National Assembly
Kwon Seong-dong, Acting Leader and Floor Leader of the People Power Party, met with Lee Ju-ho, Deputy Prime Minister for Social Affairs and Minister of Education, on the 16th and said, "I ask the education authorities to actively respond to the spread of fake news and false rumors related to college entrance exams that may cause anxiety among parents and examinees."
At the meeting with Deputy Prime Minister Lee at the National Assembly that day, Acting Leader Kwon said, "Especially, the 2025 college entrance exam is currently underway." He added, "I hope that the management will be steady so that examinees and parents can pass the entrance exam smoothly without confusion."
Acting Leader Kwon also said, "An unfortunate event of the third presidential impeachment in the history of the Republic of Korea has occurred," and requested, "Please respond calmly by referring to the precedents during the Roh Moo-hyun and Park Geun-hye administrations."
Deputy Prime Minister Lee said, "Thank you for your hard work leading the party as the floor leader despite the difficult situation," and added, "As Deputy Prime Minister for Social Affairs, I also held an emergency meeting and asked the secretaries of social departments to pay special attention to state affairs."
He continued, "Especially in education policy, as the floor leader mentioned, since our children's future depends on it, we will proceed with the planned major policies without any confusion on the ground," and emphasized, "We will also ensure that the 2025 college entrance exam, which you are concerned about, is completed stably."
Furthermore, Deputy Prime Minister Lee said, "We will strive to ensure that the integration of kindergartens and daycare centers (Yubotonghap) is well established on the ground," and added, "I believe that the education sector should flow through communication among the National Assembly, government, and educational sites." He also said, "Especially on current issues that the public is interested in, such as AI (artificial intelligence) digital textbooks, we will communicate more closely with the National Assembly," and requested, "As we have smoothly consulted with the government so far, we ask for more cooperation from the party for stable state administration in the future."
