Dongducheon-si Selected as an Outstanding Local Government in the Ministry of Health and Welfare's 'National Mind Investment Support Project'

Dongducheon City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Park Hyung-deok) announced on the 16th that it was selected as an excellent local government in the '2024 National Mind Investment Support Project Local Government Evaluation' hosted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare on the 12th.

This project provides professional psychological counseling services to citizens experiencing emotional difficulties such as depression and anxiety, and it has been implemented since July of this year.

The Ministry of Health and Welfare held a competition to select excellent local governments among 229 cities, counties, and districts nationwide to promote this new project.

Accordingly, Dongducheon City was selected as an excellent local government by receiving high evaluations in various assessment indicators such as service application rate, number of registered service institutions and personnel, and budget execution rate.

In particular, the city actively promoted the project by broadcasting promotional videos on online platforms such as the homepage and SNS, as well as on various electronic billboards, and by promoting it through the Dongducheon Yangju Office of Education, local psychiatric medical institutions, and mental health welfare centers.

The head of the Health Promotion Division at the Public Health Center said, “We will continue to actively promote the National Mind Investment Support Project and do our best to ensure that citizens experiencing emotional difficulties can receive support promptly.”
