Hamyang Wild Ginseng Gains Popularity in Downtown Seoul

San-yang-sam (wild ginseng) and processed products, representative forest products of Hamyang-gun, Gyeongnam, received great attention at the ‘2024 Gyeongnam Forest Products Consumption Promotion Special Sale’ held in Seoul.

The event, organized by Gyeongsangnam-do and hosted by the Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam Regional Headquarters of the Korea Forest Cooperative Federation, was held from the 13th to the 15th and showcased various forest products and processed goods from Gyeongnam regions including Hamyang-gun, Miryang, Geoje, Uiryeong, Changnyeong, Goseong, Hadong, Sancheong, and Geochang.

This event took place in Seongsu-dong, Seoul, the center of consumption for the MZ generation, providing diverse visitors with the opportunity to experience Hamyang-gun’s excellent San-yang-sam.

In particular, Hamyang-gun attracted significant interest by promoting San-yang-sam as its representative product, and not only the processed San-yang-sam products but also cleansing items such as fermented Houttuynia cordata cosmetics and soap received attention.

Additionally, Hamyang-gun actively engaged with consumers through unique events such as the ‘San-yang-sam Quiz’ and ‘Lucky Ball Draw,’ generating enthusiastic responses.

Thanks to this proactive promotion and entertaining activities, many visitors had enjoyable experiences on-site, which led to a substantial increase in sales.

The head of the Anti-aging Wild Ginseng Division stated, “It is natural that Hamyang’s San-yang-sam, the best in the nation, is receiving attention. We will make further efforts to foster the San-yang-sam industry so that it can leap onto the global stage.”
