Ulsan Local Government Ranks First in Fundraising for Two Consecutive Years
Ulsan Ulju-gun announced on the 16th that it has surpassed 310 million KRW in hometown love donation fundraising, the first in the Ulsan area.
On the same day, Ulju-gun held a small meeting room event where County Governor Lee Soon-geol, Deputy Governor Kim Seok-myung, and other senior officials expressed their gratitude to donors in celebration of reaching 310 million KRW in hometown love donations.
As of this day, a total of 2,400 people have participated in Ulju-gun's hometown love donation fundraising. The amount raised increased by 50 million KRW from last year's 260 million KRW, achieving 140% of the target amount (220 million KRW). The funds are accumulated as hometown love funds.
Donors contributing 100,000 KRW or less numbered 2,350, accounting for 98% of the total. High-value donors contributing 1 million KRW or more numbered 35, slightly down from 45 last year.
The donation amount for those giving 100,000 KRW or less was 232 million KRW, making up 74%, while donations of 1 million KRW or more totaled 78 million KRW, accounting for 25%.
Ulju-gun prepared 35 items as thank-you gifts that donors can choose from. Popular items such as Korean beef, Hwangwoo rice, sesame oil, Boksundoga, Ulsan Boba, pear bread, kimchi, honey, natto, and yogurt are available and can be received as points worth up to 30% of the donation amount.
Starting next year, Ulju-gun plans to select fund projects through nationwide idea contests, collecting opinions from donors and residents to discover new fund projects. Additionally, they will seek to find more diverse thank-you gifts to capture donors' hearts.
Governor Lee Soon-geol said, “We deeply appreciate the warm support for Ulju-gun sent from all over the country,” and added, “The donations received will be used valuably to revitalize the local economy and improve the welfare of Ulju-gun residents.”
