The Pocheon City Council in Gyeonggi Province (Chairman Lim Jong-hoon) announced on the 16th that it held consecutive meetings on the 13th in the council’s second-floor conference room with the heads of Pocheon Senior University and the Daycare Center Association (President Choi Mi-young).

At the meeting with the heads of the Senior University, Chairman Lim Jong-hoon and council members attended to listen to current issues related to the operation of the Senior University and discuss support measures for its management.
The heads emphasized the importance of operating the Senior University and proposed expanding support to improve the quality of senior education and the learning environment.
The city council members highlighted the need to enhance the quality of life and social participation of seniors through lifelong education, highly appreciating the contributions of the Senior University to the local community. They also agreed on the necessity of additional budget support to expand learning infrastructure and provide diverse programs.
The second meeting that followed was with the Daycare Center Association to discuss stable childcare operations at local daycare centers. At this meeting, specific solutions were proposed to address the shortage of daycare staff and improve childcare environments, along with calls for budget support to strengthen the safety of childcare facilities.
In response, the city council members stated, "Daycare centers are important spaces that lay the foundation for basic education and safe childcare for future generations. Pocheon City will continue to guarantee the stability of daycare center operations and strengthen support to create a better working environment for childcare teachers."
Chairman Lim Jong-hoon said, “This meeting was a meaningful occasion to discuss support measures for seniors and children,” adding, “The Pocheon City Council will continue to actively create opportunities for communication to reflect diverse social demands, work together to find solutions, and strive to build a society where all citizens are happy.”
