Autonomous Navigation Solution 'Hynas Control' Supply Contract
Applied to Up to 30 Vessels... Fuel Savings Up to 15% Effectiveness
Abicus, a specialized company in autonomous ship navigation under HD Hyundai, has successfully secured a large-scale order for its autonomous navigation solution.
On the 16th, Abicus announced that it signed a supply contract for the large vessel autonomous navigation solution 'Hynas Control' with H Line Shipping. The signing ceremony was attended by Kim Seong-jun, CEO of HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore, Lim Do-hyung, CEO of Abicus, and Seo Myung-deuk, CEO of H Line Shipping.

H Line Shipping plans to initially introduce Hynas Control on five vessels to verify safety and efficiency, then expand its application to up to 30 large vessels by next year. In addition to supplying the solution, both companies plan to strengthen cooperation in various fields such as technical support and data analysis.
Hynas Control, developed by Abicus, is an AI-based autonomous navigation system that integrates information provided by various navigation equipment and sensors to guide and control ships to operate on optimal routes and speeds. Abicus is the first in the industry to commercialize a solution corresponding to Level 2 of the IMO autonomous ship standards, which allows remote control while crew members are on board.
In March, Abicus demonstrated the fuel-saving effect of its autonomous navigation solution, achieving up to 15% fuel reduction on a 9,334 km autonomous navigation route, marking the world's first verification of such performance.
H Line Shipping, one of the largest shipping companies in Korea, stated that it introduced the autonomous navigation solution not only to enhance the safety of ship operations and reduce crew workload but also to effectively respond to environmental regulations through fuel savings.
CEO Seo said, "Technological innovation is essential to proactively respond to increasingly stringent environmental regulations and create a sustainable future," adding, "We expect the introduction of Hynas Control to be an opportunity to strengthen H Line Shipping's global competitiveness."
CEO Lim said, "This is an opportunity to once again prove the safety and efficiency of Hynas Control," and added, "We will expand cooperation not only with domestic shipping companies but also with global shipping companies."
