Efforts to Seek a 'Win-Win' Path for Mutual Growth

Paju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kim Kyung-il) announced on the 16th that on the 11th, it decided to promote the '5th Paju City Distribution Industry Win-Win Development Support Agreement' between traditional markets in the area and seven large distribution companies, and to join forces to build a distribution ecosystem where everyone can coexist.

Participants included Emart Paju and Unjeong branches, Homeplus Munsan and Unjeong branches, Emart Everyday, Lotte Premium Outlet Paju branch, and Shinsegae Simon Paju branch.

According to the agreement, large distribution companies and traditional markets promised to establish a foundation for mutual win-win cooperation and to practice win-win support by large distribution companies to revitalize the local economy.

So far, Paju City has been striving to create a mutually beneficial distribution ecosystem by signing the first nationwide large-scale store win-win development support agreement in 2012, adjusting mandatory closing days from public holidays to weekdays, among other measures.

Based on this agreement, Paju City plans to seek a 'win-win' path where both large distribution companies and traditional markets can benefit, and rather than unconditional support for traditional markets, it will create regular meetings and communication channels for mutual development.

Mayor Kim Kyung-il of Paju City said, “With rising prices, high interest rates, and economic recession, it is a time when win-win cooperation is needed more than ever,” and added, “I hope this agreement will help large distribution companies and traditional markets inject vitality into the local economy.”
