The Umi Construction Consortium (Umi Construction, GS Construction, ESI) announced on the 16th that it was finally selected as the preferred negotiation partner for the P1 package-type public offering project of Godeok International New City by the Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH) on the 12th.

The package-type public offering project of Godeok International New City is a large-scale project combining design competition projects and private participation projects. It is promoted in three packages (P1, P2, P3), and the Umi Construction Consortium won the P1 package. P1 consists of a total of six blocks: three blocks from the design competition project and three blocks from the private participation project. It is the largest among the three packages, with a total project cost of about 2 trillion KRW and a total of 4,145 households.

The Umi Construction Consortium proposed the concept called "Godeok The Vibe," tailored to the characteristics of Pyeongtaek Godeok International New City, which attracts a young population, and received the highest score. In particular, they proposed complexes that serve as regional hubs by connecting various infrastructures such as parks, schools, commercial, and office areas.

The complexes are connected to neighborhood parks, and the neighborhood parks and central plazas are designed to form one large forest. In the future, the complexes will be developed as vibrant areas through pedestrian-friendly designs and organic connections between the complexes and external green spaces. Various community facilities and landscaping spaces that offer diverse seasonal views will also be installed within the complexes.

For complexes excluding rental apartments, Umi Construction's apartment brand "Lyn," which was renewed this year, will be applied. "Lyn" signifies a residential product that focuses on the essential functions of housing and features a simple design. Its core values are Pure Life (setting standards for space), Pure Excellence (high quality based on expertise), and Pure Heart (sincere attitude toward customers).

The project site, Godeok International New City, is an area where the metropolitan express railway (GTX) A and C lines are being extended, and it has abundant demand from behind, including Samsung Electronics Pyeongtaek Campus. School sites are adjacent to each complex, and office and commercial sites are also nearby, creating an expected convenient living environment. It is especially close to the administrative town where Pyeongtaek City Hall is planned.

A Umi Construction official said, "We feel a heavy responsibility in winning LH's largest-scale project and will do our best for its success," adding, "We will continue to participate in various LH projects and take the lead in housing supply."

Meanwhile, Umi Construction, as a comprehensive real estate company, is building business infrastructure covering the entire process of real estate business areas. It is diversifying its business models into housing, construction projects, proptech, non-residential real estate, and commercial facilities.
