"Two strokes were lacking."
No Seung-yeol, the 2014 Zurich Classic champion, narrowly missed out on a PGA Tour card for next year. On the 15th (local time), at the final round of the PGA Tour Qualifying (Q) School held at TPC Sawgrass (par 70, 6,850 yards) in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, he shot a 3-under-par 67 with five birdies and one double bogey. His final total was 2-under-par 278. Although he jumped seven places from a tie for 15th the previous day, he did not achieve the desired result. He finished two strokes behind the group tied for 4th place, who earned PGA Tour cards.
This tournament grants PGA Tour cards for the 2025 season to players finishing up to 5th place (including ties), and the top 40 players (including ties) receive Korn Ferry Tour cards, the secondary tour. Ranto Griffin (USA), the 2019 Houston Open winner, took first place with 9-under-par 271. Hayden Buckley (USA) finished second at 6-under-par 274, and Takumi Kanaya (Japan) was third at 5-under-par 275, all securing their PGA Tour status for the 2025 season.
Lee Seung-taek, who won the KPGA Tour Lexus Masters last September, finished tied for 14th at 1-under-par 279, earning eligibility to compete on the Korn Ferry Tour next season. Bae Sang-moon dropped two strokes to tie for 43rd at 3-over-par 283. No Seung-yeol and Lee Seung-taek will be able to participate in about 12 tournaments early in the season on the Korn Ferry Tour, with their priority for entry in subsequent events adjusted based on their performance. Bae Sang-moon is guaranteed starts in up to eight tournaments early in the season. Kim Sung-hyun struggled, finishing tied for 96th at 8-over-par 288, earning a conditional status on the Korn Ferry Tour for the 2025 season.
