Gwanak-gu (Mayor Park Jun-hee) has been honored with the Excellence Award in the 'Implementation Results of the Community Social Security Plan' category of the 2024 Regional Welfare Project Evaluation hosted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare.
The Ministry of Health and Welfare conducts a comprehensive annual evaluation of metropolitan and local governments nationwide based on the Social Security Benefits Act, assessing the establishment and implementation process of community social security plans over the course of a year.
The 'Community Social Security Plan' is a comprehensive plan established to promote social security projects tailored to regional characteristics and resident needs across fields such as welfare, employment, culture, education, and health.
This evaluation was conducted on the community social security plan established and implemented in 2023.
The main evaluation criteria include ▲completeness of the plan content ▲appropriateness of the implementation process ▲excellence of implementation results ▲resident participation and satisfaction, covering 20 indicators across 5 areas.
The district received high scores in the 'Implementation Results Evaluation' category after passing the first city/province evaluation and the second nationwide evaluation.
In particular, the district was recognized for its specialized social security project capabilities in areas such as ▲operation of youth cultural spaces ▲customized support for single-person households ▲Gwanak Gang Gam-chan Festival.
Additionally, as a strategy for the development of community social security, the district carried out ▲discovery of crisis households in the Gwanak style and establishment of support systems ▲strengthening and solidifying public-private cooperation ▲specialized projects of the community social security council reflecting local environmental characteristics.
Mayor Park Jun-hee said, “I feel rewarded that the community social security system, built together through public-private cooperation, has been recognized. Moving forward, we will do our best to create ‘Inclusive City Together Welfare Gwanak’ by enhancing residents’ quality of life through a solid community social security plan.”
