The People Power Party will discuss the personnel hearing schedule with the Democratic Party starting on the 16th. It is known that two options are being considered: holding hearings over three days on the 21st and 23rd to 24th of this month, or holding hearings over two days on the 23rd to 24th.

The Democratic Party has nominated Jeong Gyesun (55, Judicial Research and Training Institute class 27), Chief Judge of the Seoul Western District Court, and Ma Eunhyeok (61, class 29), Senior Judge of the Seoul Western District Court. The People Power Party has recommended lawyer Jo Hanchang (59, class 18) as a candidate for Constitutional Court justice.

Currently, only six of the nine Constitutional Court justice seats are filled. The court can review impeachment motions with six justices, and impeachment is approved if there is unanimous consent. However, controversy may arise over deciding significant matters such as presidential impeachment with only six justices. Both ruling and opposition parties agree on this and plan to promptly proceed with procedures such as the National Assembly personnel hearings.
